The Woods
Wild and free in nature
Our Woodland is a sacred space which has been developed through a 15 year relationship between Second Sight and the spirits of the land there. When a senior marakame (shaman) for the Wixarika nation undertook ceremony in the woods for the first time ten years ago, he announced in the morning that the spirits were happy with our work there as they had been well fed. This was a big endorsement for the work we are attempting to do in reviving animistic practices on the land of the U.K.
Just to be in the woods can be a healing experience, ‘Dr Woods’ we’ve nicknamed it as many people can arrive physically sick and leave well. It is here that we do our deep work to reconnect to ourselves, our spirit helpers, ancestors and the earth.
It is here we attempt too to re-dream a tradition on the island of Britain. Each ceremony and initiation has been born out of the relationship with the land here. This takes deep listening and many years to support a process of evolution and osmosis with the local spirits, so we can understand what is needed at this time and in this environment. Within the woods, each space has purpose, to support and explore every aspect of our being and to rewild the soul.
What happens in the woods...
Stays in the woods. Really. But what we can tell you is that it’s a deeply transformational space where you’ll learn to release and unbind yourself from what has become the norm – dis-ease, disconnection and come back into balance again.
